Saturday was a beautiful day for a fox trial in
Delmer Seale's pen. The weather was sunny,
but not too hot, the foxes were willing to come
out and play, and plenty of crossings were
scored.  There were several young upstarts in
the pack and most of them hung with the
veterens the entire day. We were all proud of
the heart and endurance they had. GBFC
Happyrun Zig was on his game and came back
with the high score of the day at 580 points.
Delmer's pen took a toll on some of the
younger hounds' pads so althoug they were
qualified to run on Sunday, their owners opted
to give their feet a rest on Sunday and didn't run them. Sunday at David York's pen brought a couple of different
obstacles. It was raining pretty much non-stop, and the foxhounds had run the pen the night before and many of
the big hounds were still in the woods as we arrived. No big deal...we helped catch up the remaining foxhounds.
We weren't too worried about game...if the foxes were still out, the beagles would find them, and we came to hunt
our dogs. We had a start within minutes of casting our dogs and the running lasted the entire trial. Most of the
day the dogs ran as one pack, very few were out on their own. It was another good scoring day and GBFC
Happyrun Zig was on a streak again. He ended up winning the Sunday trial and the accumulative score over both
days for Zig was 885 points - a new record for a CBFTA rial. This also made his 5th win, tied in wins only by
long-time Grand Beagle Fox Champions Roy's Falcon (who placed second in this trial) and Zig's uncle, Happyrun
Calico Clem, who is currently enjoying his retirement in the soft grasses of Indiana.

A good time was had by all, and we got a welcomed visit from beagler Tim Cassidy on Sunday. We were all glad
to see him, and he managed to get some score on the dogs himself. The results are as follows:
(Above) 3rd place hound, BFC Happyrun Zing -
chilling out in the shade while everyone else gets their
pictures made.

(Upper Left) 4th thru 6th, Zag, Maverick and Rocket.

(Left bottom) 7th Ignited  (posed by Tim Cassidy) 8th
Nickleback, and 9th, Cisco.
