DAY ONE
Friday May 21st at 7 AM with the
temperature of 70 degrees and rising,
the 33 entries were cast for this year's
initial 2-day competition. Due to the
unusually heavy ground vegetation &
early seasonal leaf cover, seeing Mr. Fox
was very difficult. Nevertheless it did not
hamper the beagles in their relentless
pursuit of the quarry.
The 100 acre pen was alive with many
split packs running in different areas as
game was quite plentiful. Four hours
passed quickly and the tiring dogs were
easily caught up. While the scores were
being calculated Todd Deschamps &
sidekick Chris Lloyd prepared their
tailgate lunch offering of spaghetti &
meatballs along with 3 selections of
salads, buns and cold drinks.
Hounds waiting to be cast. You know it's a warm day when they are panting on the tie-out.

It was definitely a day for hats:

Linda Richards is "Pretty in Pink" with her cap.
Tom Alldread models his sexy topper.
Dan & Bob's hats face the same direction.
The CBFTA 's free lunch ritual is but one of this
organizations trademark activities. It not only
satisfies the participants noon day hunger but
serves to continually enhance our personal
relationships and motto , “Come Run & Have Fun”.

Day 2 presented a crackerjack of a chase
from the get-go with many crosses witnessed
by all judges as they used the roadways

There's never a lack of camaraderie at the Beagle Fox trials. In fact,
Pennsylvania Beagler Ned Kocher travelled north to celebrate his 78th birthday
running dogs. Happy Birthday, Ned. Great to have you back!
